For most of his adult life, Andrew Laszlo Jr.'s father, Andrew Sr., kept his experience as a holocaust survivor a secret. At 20 years old, having nothing left, he escaped Russian-occupied Hungary and made his way to post-war Germany. From there, he emigrated to the United States.

Andrew Sr. went on to have a distinguished motion picture career as a cinematographer for over 50 movies and televisions series, including Shogun and Rambo: First Blood. Decades after his arrival in America, he documented his holocaust survival story in the memoir Footnote to History.

Laszlo Jr. is committed to keeping his father’s memory alive by sharing his story of hope and resilience.

A reception and book signing will follow the presentation.

This event is sponsored by the NWC History Department and the ΑρΑ«Φ±²₯ Foundation & Alumni.
